1000 Blank White Cards
Description:This is not so much a game as a creativity junket, but I love it. Write your own cards on the backs of business cards (or similar). The game part of it can be "won" just by making the "I win!" card, but the fun is in seeing what weirdness other people come up with.

20th Century Limited
Description:One of the like-Ticket-To-Ride-but games - build routes across the landscape with a limited set of train tracks. One of the two ways of scoring points lets you pick up the tracks afterwards, the other doesn't, so it's a nice dance between them.

Age of Mythology
Description:Based on the video game, you build up your resources, city, and army (to defend the above). There's a nice paper/scissors/rock tradeoff between the various countries/unit types, but there's a lot of randomness. One basic fighter could theoretically kill a whole army.

Girl Genius
Description:Based on the webcomic Girl Genius, this game never really took off, which is a shame. Uses the same mechanic as XXXenophile - cards are laid out in a grid pattern, and you spin a card of your choice and "pop" those with matching symbols. Clearly assuming there were going to be expansions that were never released. I like XXXenophile better, though, 'cause a) there are more cards, and b) it's dirty.

Description:A game about building a horror movie (or a western, or a sci-fi, or... depending on which of the expansions / standalone games you're playing with). Guerilla
Description:Guerilla is a multi-player simulation card game. Three to six players vie for control of the government as rebels wage a civil war against those in power. As in real guerrilla warfare, the government forces are handicapped by their inability to separate friend from foe. This "fog of war" is accomplished by a clever dichotomy of goals wherein each player simultaneously commands both government and rebel forces. However, each player is secretly backing either the government of rebel cause and is severely penalized if his "side" doesn't win the hand.

Description:An intriguing game where you actually build the cards you're playing, slotting in expansions to existing cards. About the only flaw is that it's basically independent - the only interaction with other players is "they bought the cards I wanted". Still, it moves fast enough that it doesn't matter.

Description:Stupiduel is a simple but entertaining storytelling game. Use your hand of item and modifier cards to construct a diabolical weapon (such as "1000 electrified hamsters") with which to attack a fellow player. Then you must tell a story about how you will use this implausible but fearsome weapon to destroy your opponent. The other player gets to build a defensive item in the same way (maybe a "radioactive garden gnome") and describe how it prevents or deflects the attack. The rest of the group then decides who is the winner of the battle.

Tile Chess
Description:In Tile Chess, the board isn't used and the pieces are represented by tiles. The pieces move in the traditional fashion, including capturing, and the game — and the pieces for that matter — is held together by the restriction that each piece must always be connected to another piece, with that piece being connected to another, etc. Thanks to this requirement, the board and the grid that the pieces move on is formed by the pieces themselves (or lack thereof). You cannot make moves that would orphan pieces, which adds an interesting wrinkle to the game — and to make matters worse (in a good way), you might have to defend yourself against more than just one opponent...
