I'm at work right now. Strictly speaking, I'm at a client's company right now. We're supposed to be setting up new computers for them - installing all the software they need, transferring over all the files from the old systems to the new ones, going from WinNT to WinXP, and so forth. So I've taken one of the old hard drives and have put it in one of the new computers and am copying over nearly everything from the old hard drive.

So I'm absently glancing at the progress, and I notice porn being copied. Lots of porn. It's got names like - let me check the current one - "Kacey - Licking Ass and Cum.mpg", and then "licking dog cock.mpg", and then "marine slams dude on bed.mpg", followed by "Mature Angry sex.mpg", so it's pretty clearly huge amounts of porn films. Approximately - I check for a moment - 3.5 GB of porn. Really nasty porn, in many cases, judging strictly by the names, and as god is my witness the names are as close as I want to get to most of that stuff. "bleeding anus Ass Fuck" or "Horse Fuck" is not my cup of tea, thanks ever so much. I briefly look for ordinary, decent, godfearing porn, sneakily watch a bit with the volume turned off. It's porn, all right.

I'm vaguely amused by this. Also disconcerted. I'm sitting on the floor to work on this - the floor is the only place near the server closet and a power socket that doesn't cause a UPS to loudly complain - and I find myself looking over my shoulder at the people who wander by, wondering if they'll notice that I'm moving porn around. Feelings of paranoia - are they watching my from behind? Does the person who uses this computer know that his or her porn stash is being transferred around? And why, in the name of Allah, is it all hidden away in a folder called "My Shared Folder"?
